This Week’s Local Feature

Philip Kells

Philip Kells, Keller Williams Edge Realty

Selling well starts before the listing goes live.

A lot of sellers spend money in the wrong places. The real leverage is knowing what to improve, what to leave alone, how to present the home well, and where to price it from the start.

Philip helps sellers make the right decisions early, so the home shows better, lands better with buyers, and hits the market with a clear strategy.

If you want honest guidance, sharp positioning, and a smarter sale, Philip has got you covered.

Top Picks This Week

The Craft Show

The Craft Show

📅 Saturday, April 25 | 📍 Streetsville

One of the best browse-around plans on the calendar this week.

This indoor market brings together local vendors, handmade goods, jewelry, gifts, and home pieces all in one stop. It’s the kind of place where you can knock out a Mother’s Day gift, find something for the house, and still have a good time even if you only came to look around.

Simple, seasonal, and easy to drop into.

Astronomy in Action

📅 Saturday, April 25 | 📍 Clarkson

This is one of the more unique family-friendly plans on the calendar this week.

The 360-degree dome turns the show into a trip through space, with stops at the moon, Saturn, and farther out. A very good pick for kids who love space, or parents who want something different from the standard weekend routine.

Beneva Mississauga Marathon

📅 Sunday, April 26 | 📍 Celebration Square

One of the biggest spring weekends on the city calendar.

Even for people who are not running, it is the kind of event that makes Mississauga feel busier and more alive than usual. The action starts downtown, runs through neighbourhoods including Clarkson and Port Credit, and finishes by the lake.

For runners, spectators, or anyone who likes a high-energy event, this is the main draw of the weekend.

Quick Hits

Comedy Nuggets Stand-Up Showcase in Mississauga

📅 Friday, April 24 | 📍 Stonehooker Brewing Company

A strong Friday night pick when dinner alone feels a bit too predictable.

You get the show, the brewery setting, and food and drinks in the same place, so it’s easy to make it a full night of laughter all in one place.

Fred Penner: The Cat Came Back

📅 Sunday, April 26 | 📍 Living Arts Centre

This is the man behind iconic songs like The Cat Came Back and Sandwiches.

This is an easy family pick where the kids get the live show and the adults get the nostalgia.

A League of Our Own: Mississauga Sports Exhibition

📅 Saturday, April 25 | 📍 Adamson Estate

A new exhibition is arriving at Adamson Estate, and the opening event is free and family-friendly.

There will be refreshments, student curators on site, and a look through local sports stories, artifacts, and interactive pieces tied to Mississauga’s athletic history.

Easy Plan This Week

Riverwood and Studio.89

Start with a walk through Riverwood, the large nature spot on the Credit River with trails, gardens, and easy paths to get outside as the weather warms up.

Then head to Studio.89 for a coffee and something small. It is a fair-trade café and community hub, so it feels a little more interesting than another Starbucks run.

This is low effort, calm, and very easy to enjoy on a spring afternoon.

This Week’s Best Eats

Indian Cuisine by the Lake

Indian Cuisine by the Lake’s thali, served with curries, rice, naan, and sides.

📅 Open daily, 11:00am to 10:00pm; until 11:00pm Fri-Sat

📍 56 Lakeshore Rd E Unit A

The easiest way to get the full Indian dinner experience.

At Indian Cuisine by the Lake, their thali brings a full Indian spread to your table in one order: warm naan, fluffy rice, rich curries, and sides all laid out on one platter.

You know you’re in for a treat the second it hits the table, with colour, steam, sauce, and enough variety to make every bite exciting. Tear into the naan, spoon up the curries, and work your way across the plate.

We love this dish because it gives you more range than just picking one curry and calling it a night, and instead makes dinner feel like a true special occasion.

Beyond dine-in, Indian Cuisine by the Lake also offers Uber Eats delivery and catering for larger groups.

Go hungry, order the thali, and make this your Port Credit dinner plan this week.

Follow @indiancuisinebythelake for more plates, specials, and updates.

Leela’s Roti & Doubles

📍 900 Rathburn Rd W

For a filling casual meal around the Rathburn side of town, start here.

Leela’s does the kind of Caribbean comfort food that solves dinner fast and still feels like a proper treat. Go for the doubles, the boneless chicken dhalpuri wrap, the Trini pelau, or jerk chicken with rice and peas.

This is a strong pick for takeout, a casual dinner, or the nights when everyone wants something hot, spicy, and satisfying without spending a fortune.

Royal Garden

📍 6990 Financial Dr Unit 5

For Hakka Chinese and Thai food in the west end, Royal Garden is a very easy group-order option.

Start with the garlic pepper chicken or crispy momos, then move into noodles, fried rice, hot and sour soup, or one of the family combos. It’s a good call when nobody wants the same thing.

Ridgeway Plaza is getting gates, cameras, and more security

The city and the Ridgeway Plaza owners have reached a new agreement aimed at cutting down on the nuisance gatherings that have been causing problems there.

The plan includes security cameras, speed bumps, permanent access gates, more signage, and extra security staffing on nights when large celebrations are expected. The city will also step up parking enforcement.

Starting April 27, Route 135 Eglinton Express will be extended to Kipling Bus Terminal.

That means a more direct express connection from the west end of Mississauga into Toronto, with access to TTC and GO at one of the most useful transit hubs in the region.

Planned highway closures this week

A quick heads up for drivers: Peel-area highway closures and roadwork are planned this week, so it’s worth checking before heading out, especially for late-night and early-morning drives.

A new Chick-fil-A is planned for Erin Mills Town Centre

This is now at the city-application stage, not just a rumour.

The proposal calls for a one-storey restaurant with a patio and a double drive-through at Erin Mills Town Centre.

Thanks For Reading

The goal is simple: make it easier to know what’s happening around Mississauga and prove our city is more interesting than people think.

See you next week!
